Groupon mascara deal

Yeah Mom power!
A good Mom friend of mine that I met on the playground has invented this fantastic mascara. It was born of her frustration with blobby mascara and tissueing off the excess thus going through the tube twice as fast. The cool squeeze tube lets you go from subtle to glam without a mess. She's on groupon today it's such a steal.

Jaimie Alexander and that amazing Chanel mascara

So last night I worked with Jaimie Alexander who was getting ready for the latest Twilight premiere. She's currently filming Thor and was accompanying the lovely Peter Facinelli to his premier. We worked out a smoky eye using shimmery taupes from Dior, Bobbi Brown black gel liner all the way around and inside and then really smudged. The real news of the night was the new Le Volume mascara from Chanel.
No offense Chanel but I've never been a big fan of your mascara until now. For makeup artists you can get full thick lashes in one quick coat and it makes applying lashes a million times easier. For regular users you will have long thick lashes in one to two coats. In between coats, I brush through lightly with a dry spoolie while it's damp. It doesn't smudge or burn eyes and it lasts all day. Your lashes will look the same at the end of the day. I'm obsessed with this mascara. The brush is dense and lush but very moveable. Look at Jaimie's lashes , this is one coat with NO falsies..... You're gonna have to get this mascara ......

Padma Lakshmi

Sorry i havent posted , I'm so behind........ But I'm newly focused! Did I tell you I did Padma Lakshmi for the Emmys? She wore an amazing orange Monique Luhuillier dress. We kept it really understated because the dress was ALOT. The thing about Padma for me is it's all about her skin any way. I spend extra time polishing up and highlighting that skin. I used La Mer soft cream and too faced primer. Her foundation is two drops 8 and two drops 9 of Armani fluid silk foundation. On a damp beauty blender sponge Also put a good focus on cheek and lash. We used a true orange blush right on the apple of her cheek and Tom Ford Wild Ginger lipstick . This I pressed on with a finger for an orange stain. And yup she really is that spectacularly gorgeous.

Christina Ricci marie Claire

Ok so..... I'm lame ...thought I posted this. Worked with Tesh for a cover of Christina Ricci for Marie Claire. Shadows were purples from Dior mixed with a cream shadow in a pearlized beige from MAC. I used full lash strips under Christina's eyes and loads of individuals on top. Lips were Nars Dolce Vita with a load of smiths rosebud underneath. Cheeks were Tom Ford in flush and Bobbi Brown cream blush in rose

the golden globes

I worked with Elizabeth McGovern from Downtown Abbey for the Globes.    I love her!!   She makes everything fun and is very laid back.  She was shocked at the amount of free crap they give you at the globes.    They even have vacations that they give away.  She sent me off with a great pair of fur lined moccassins ;))  She wanted a retro-porcelain 40's look for the awards and likes very fresh barely there makeup. Here is what I used.......
*Caudelie moisturizer
*Smashbox primer
*Armani silk foundation #4
*used the ever present "beauty blender" sponge
*Laura Mercier "star powder"
*MAC blush (it was bright orange)
*MAC Brun in brows (just a bit she likes em FULL)
*Bobbi Brown gel liner black
*Dior iconic waterproof curling mascara (a ton)
*loads and loads of knot free lashes in short and medium
*Nars Jungle Red lipstick
Here she is at the Bafta Tea

CHRISTINA RICCI DOES THE COVER OF OYSTER MAGAZINE

Hey friends.......so it has begun.   I have been goaded and harassed into embracing modern media.  So here it is, my first blog post.  My goal with this blog is to give some insight into what its like to do the job I'm so privileged to do as well as some product reviews and tips.

I have the priviledge of working with Christina Ricci now and again.  She is gorgeous, really super smart and has a wicked- wicked sense of humor.  She is actually really talented at doing her own makeup and I have learned alot from her.  As time goes I will try to share some of her makeup wisdom in later posts.  This shoot was all about a rebellious 60's sensibility, undone makeup and lashes.  The guy who showed up with the cool bike was so dashing......
